VERDICT: $42,969,200 - Spinal paralysis caused by a defective Toyota Tundra when it’s roof design failed to protect our client in a foreseeable rollover crash. In August of 2023 a Weld County, Colorado, jury found in favor of our client and his wife. The jury’s verdict is believed to be the largest personal injury award of damages in Weld County. On August 20, 2023, the Court awarded our client’s prejudgment interest and entered a Judgment in the amount of $49,029,573 Covelli v. Toyota Motor Corporation, et. al.

VERDICT: $52,000,000 - Spinal paralysis caused by rollover accident. Brockman v. Takata, et. al. While at his prior law firm, Tony Bolson was a part of the trial team that obtained the largest verdict of 2016 in the State of Colorado.

ARBITRATION AWARD: $890,679 - Securities fraud against retired farmers. Tony Bolson was the lead attorney at an NASD (now FINRA) arbitration seeking to recover his clients’ money which was improperly invested. Tony’s advocacy required the defendant securities brokerages to pay over $500,000.00 in punitive damages alone. Floyd and Lily Lund v. FNIC and Lombard Securities.

SETTLEMENT: $15,000,000 - Brain injury caused by defective stability control system.

SETTLEMENT: $11,000,000 - Brain injury to young woman caused by negligent tire installation leading to crash.

SETTLEMENT: $5,500,000 - Defective seat belt failed to constrain occupant who suffered catastrophic spinal injury. While at his prior law firm, Tony lead the discovery and motions practice leading to settlement.

SETTLEMENT: $3,000,000 - Defective truck roof failed to protect worker involved in rollover accident. While at his prior law firm, Tony lead the discovery efforts against a major automaker, and negotiated the settlement of the case on behalf of the firm’s client.

SETTLEMENT: $1,700,000 - Defective truck transmission slipped out of park and rolled over client’s leg - causing crush injury.

SETTLEMENT: $850,000 - Trust litigation with claims for Lack of Capacity and Undue Influence.

SETTLEMENT: CONFIDENTIAL - Defective HVAC product caused finger laceration requiring multiple surgeries.

SETTLEMENT: CONFIDENTIAL - Defective glassware fractured and lacerated client’s finger requiring surgery.

SETTLEMENT: CONFIDENTIAL - Defective beverage can exploded causing wrist injury requiring surgery.

SETTLEMENT: $225,000.00 - Auto accident resulting in broken leg. Tony quickly obtained the full available insurance policy limits on behalf of his prior law firm’s client.

Cantu Enterprises, LLC v. Susan Combs, D-1-GN-13-004369.  Trial resulting in verdict for client. Taxpayer sought to avoid sales tax on the purchase of a $7,200,000.00 aircraft.  

Allstate Ins. v. Susan Combs, D-1-GN-12-001299, aff’d in part, No. 3-13-00341-CV. Trial resulting in verdict for client. Taxpayer sought approximately $20,000,000.00 tax refund. Appellate court upheld vast majority of trial court’s denial of tax refund request.  

McNeil vs. Superior Siding, 2009 SD 68, 771 N.W.2d 345, S.D. Supreme Court unanimous ruling in favor of client in worker’s compensation matter.  

Met Life Auto & Home Ins. Co. v. Lester, 2006 SD 62, 719 N.W.2d 385. South Dakota Supreme Court reversal of trial court in favor of client in subrogation issue.
